I am not using an Unattend.xml I modified (from MDT or otherwise), and I do not have the 'Apply OS' step set to use an Unattend.xml. Previously I had been of the believe that SCCM handled it based on the the 'name' entry in the computer account with a matching MAC address. I believe this is a result of my not knowing how to assign a hostname properly after sysprep in this scenario. Once the OSD is complete, I can go to the 'Kittens' account and use resource explorer, remote event viewer etc with no issues. It installs and joins to the domain with a MININT-XXXXX hostname held over from WinPE, instead of the name of the SCCM computer account (call it 'Kittens'). It is the only SCCM account that MAC address (ran a report).Everything in my task sequence works fine, except the setting of the hostname. csv under the 'Computer Association' category, and fill it in simply: name and MAC, and chuck it in the test collection I am using.
